CITI Foundation Continues to Work with BN Public Welfare Project

On November 15, 2016, Brandee McHale, Chairperson of Citi Foundation and her 6 colleagues came to BN Vocational School (BNVS). Ms. Yaoli, the Board Chairperson of BNVS introduced the school running history in the past 12 years for them. Yao also explained educational philosophy, teaching methods and school-running mode for the guests from Citi Foundation. The educational results of BNVS received great appreciation from Ms. McHale. The Citi Foundation is a long term sponsor of many comprehensive BNVS projects including teaching methods innovation, capability establishment, etc., it has supported BNVS for seven consecutive years.

Brandee McHale visited AC and electrician classes and made some relaxed conversations with students. She encouraged students to seize the educational opportunities provided by the school and establish their career goals and life plan under a global view. She also hoped that students become more ambitious in learning language as well as making career and life decisions. She expected them to see themselves as the world citizens and challenge themselves.

Ms. McHale agreed with Ms. Yao that education and employment of underprivileged youth are the key issues in facing the challenge of a globalized world. Merely providing training of technologies and skills isn’t enough, the key point is to discover new methods for helping youth to face a changeable future. Therefore, it is very important for BNVS to focus on building and nurturing personal quality and life skills of its students.
